The Office of Economic and Regional Development (OERD) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is your regional gateway to a myriad of resources. The collective knowledge and resources herein are ready to assist businesses and start-up entrepreneurs with everything from creating a business plan to attracting equity investments. Many of the technical assistance programs in OERD are a part of the statewide Illinois Entrepreneurship Network.
The Illinois Entrepreneurship Network (IEN) provides entrepreneurs with coordinated access to small business consulting, entrepreneurship training, entrepreneurship development services, and other tools they need to help make their venture successful. Anchored by the Entrepreneurship Centers, the IEN builds on the existing infrastructure of the Illinois Small Business Development Centers, Manufacturing Extension Centers, Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, Technology Enterprise Centers, and International Trade Centers.
